Dissolving Filler
At 5 Aesthetics we dissolve fillers using an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. We can dissolve all hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal, Stylage, and Belotero. We do not dissolve non-hyaluronic fillers like Radiesse.
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that naturally occurs in our skin but can be injected at higher concentrations to dissolve unwanted filler rapidly.
The enzyme is a powder mixed with saline, and then this solution is injected into the area where the filler has been placed.
When undertaking Dermal Filler Dissolver treatment with hyaluronidase, the filler will be broken down and disappear in minutes.
However, the treatment results are usually only apparent after 24 hours (once the swelling has gone down).
A patch-test is done at least 20 minutes prior to injection of the hyaluronidase enzyme. This is to check for any immediate allergic reactions that would mean it is not safe to inject the enzyme. If there are no signs of allergy (such as itching, redness or a wheal) after 20 minutes, then we can safely proceed with treatment.
